In 2025, Pennsylvania's SUN Bucks program will provide a one-time $177 benefit to eligible children for summer nutrition support. The benefits are designed to help families afford food during the summer months when children may not be receiving school meals.  

• Issuance:

Benefits will be issued on a rolling basis, with most benefits being deposited on or around mid-July. 

• How to Find Out if You're Eligible:

Most eligible students will be automatically enrolled, but if you're unsure, you can check your child's school to see if they participate in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). If they do, you may need to apply for the SUN Bucks benefits, according to Pennsylvania's DHS. 

• How to Apply:

If you need to apply, you can do so online on the Pennsylvania DHS website or you can get a paper application at a County Assistance Office. 

• Application Deadline:

Applications received by August 31, 2025, will be considered for the 2025 SUN Bucks benefits.
